You won't get much disagreement from me although I confess that I like
ascii message formats.  (I came in after IPC protocols had been decided.)
My continued rant was that there was source code all over the place that
had a copy of the XML hard-coded inside it.  Of course these were always
subtlely different, hence the cause of continuous problems.
