I really like my Canon PowerShot S230.  Small, easy to use, great 
pictures, and a 256MB flash card gives me hundreds upon hundreds of 
photos or video.

The Canon works with gphoto (look on SourceForge) and I download all the 
pictures straight to my Linux fileserver.
