I concur with the quality issue assessment.  It was very noticable 5 yrs
ago when I tried SuSE.  I will add that the ease of upgrades has been very
impressive as well.  I'd estimate that 90% of the upgrades went very
smoothly.  Although that changed a bit with 7.x to 8.0 upgrades.  8.0
brought a significant change to their system configuration structure and
the services init mechanism, as they adapted a wider standard for it -
can't seem to recall the name right now.
