[lug] RH9 okay - GNOME 2 not - my yearly bitch about upgrading.

The menus were hosed.  Everything was set up to use the RH default apps,
which to my thinking defeats the purpose of running a desktop environment.

Surely there is some way to go back and surgically repair most of this,
but why do that vs. just installing the real deal?
