Hmm, i just checked the website of the Institut Integrierte Schaltungen (institute
for integrated circuits) at http://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/amm/legal/index.html:
MP3 Licensing
Thomson is the sole licensor for Fraunhofer MP3 software as well as
Fraunhofer MP3 patents. Please visit http://www.MP3licensing.com
and contact info at mp3licensing.com for MP3 Patent and Software Licensing.
IIRC they sold the licencing rights _pretty_ early (before the MP3 boom
on the internet) and didn't make that much money Serves them right :-)
