[lug] e1000 drivers on Debian

I'm running Debian 3.0 2.4.18-bf2.4 and I'm looking for the e1000 driver 
Gig-E driver.  Ideally, I'd like to just apt-get a binary package and be 
done.

If that's not reasonable, I already have the driver source code from 
Intel.  It can't be comiled without a configured kernel source tree. 
How do I get that?

Here's what I did so far:

apt-get install kernel-source-2.4.18

What do I do now to get the specific configuration used for 2.4.18-bf2.4?
