I've just bought two matching drives and I'm starting to set them up as
mirrored drives for a data area (separate from system disk).  I just
read something that said putting them on the same ide interface is worse
than bad.  If so, is it only performance related or do terrible things
happen (guess who put both drives on ide1).

I was also planning on using the md device (I saw that the mdadm author
was saying something about device mapper, is that the route things are
headed?).

Any words of wisdom?
