Excellent summary. And, I might add
- within the confines of less software, fewer architectures, and fewer
configuration choices, they are trying to offer something for
everyone, ie the Ubuntu, Kubunu, Xubuntu, and Edubuntu branches
- they are strving to produce releases that are maximally easy to use
for adapters (the jury is still out on whether they are achieving this
goal)
- they are striving to produce a commercially viable server product
via the Debian base (the jury is still out on this one as well)
- from what I've seen thus far, in spite of the paid developers, they
aren't moving a lot faster than Debian testing, but I like the
product.
