[lug] Computer rental [slightly OT]

i was just in circuit city the other day and it looks like you can get a
pretty similar unit with less RAM for $400.  Buy a ram upgrade and you're
probably looking at close to what somebody is going to rent one of those
out to you,  In fact, they'll probably charge more to rent the thing then
you could buy one.

i haven't been shopping for electronics in a long time and i'm utterly
amazed at just how cheap things have become.  it's mind boggling.  22" LCD
monitors are under $400.. i bought mine for $825 about a year ago.

know it doesn't answer your question but just something to think about.
