[lug] how to change default app under xubuntu/xfce

I have an ancient Tecra 8000 that I recently install xubuntu on.
Everything works (sound, display, etc), and I am basically really happy
but the one that that is "sort of broken" is listening to audio CDs.

When I put an audio disk in the machine it pops up totem and plays the
first track but then stops. I dont know why it doesnt recognize all the
tracks and play them. I have tried a number of other applications (xmms,
audacious, vlc, etc), but the only one that works perfectly is "grip".
It may be a matter of permissions on the device, or something else. I
have installed linux on many machines before but havent ever encountered
as much problems getting things set correctly.

I guess I have a couple of options. I can sort out why the current
applications are not working, but the easiest option is just to switch
the default application (totem) to grip. I like it, everything works.

But I can't figure out how to reset the default application (when I pop
in the CD) so that xfce/xubuntu will start grip rather than totem. Can
someone offer some advice?

Thanks

Phil
