Okay, I'll check all of these out then:

I'm kinda stuck on price since all the insurance will cover is a
replacement cost, which means the closest thing to what I had before,
which translates to (pretty much) lowest end machines today even if it
was higher end 8 years ago. My initial look at these companies makes me
think xoticpc may be close, but the others look a bit higher than what
the insurance might pay.
If Jon is right, that any x86 laptop should be fine, then I may be able
to get something from NewEgg, which is where I get most of my stuff
anyway. I may try to call them and see if their support staff know
anything.
