It also comes down to the fact that the last time there was a pandemic
was 100 years ago, but the last time governments tried to impact our
rights was ... (you pick. many choices!)
It'll take time for a lot of people in society to appreciate the
requiremensts of fighting this virus. It'll cost freedoms, jobs, ruin
finances, prevent traditions and critical life events (like the
Olympics), but we have to do it.
If this were handled right, we've be told clearly what we need to do
weeks ago and we'd see people beyond experts selilng the idea to us and
getting buy-in on it.  Then we'd be choosing to do the right thing and
there would be less objection and more success.
But leadership is something hard to find these days.
Going to wash my hands again because I choose to do so.
