[lug] Slightly Off Topic: Are iPhones half duplex?

It seems whenever I talked to someone who is using an iPhone, they don't
seem to be able to tell when I start speaking, and they interrupt me. I am
aware there is some latency on a cell network, but they actually don't seem
to be able to tell when I start talking to them. It feels like they are on
half duplex?
