[lug] Mouse problem in Slack 7

I got a new box built loaded up with Slackware 7. The install went fine
everything works ok...except my dumb mouse. I've tried all the drivers for the
mouse that /usr/sbin/mouseconfig and xf86config can offer with no avail. I am
using a plain old Logitech ps/2 that plugs into my atx ASUS mb. Any ideas why
this might not be working?
