I've been using apt for most everything for a few months now (of course, I've
only been using Debian for the same length of time :)

My problem with dselect is that it still is a part of the install process.
And that leads to possible problems.  Especially if you're picky about which
applications you install, so want to select each one individually.

As for mirrors: I've set up my own private mirror, which means that I never
have to deal with download times (except when I decide to update the mirror).
