OK, I'm confused...

I'm trying to install some Perl modules from cpan that require the
Apache source to be available on my system. I have installed the latest
updated httpd and httpd-devel rpms from RedHat and downloaded the
matching src rpm.

rpm -Uvh httpd-2.0.40-11.src.rpm

put a bunch of patch files and a tar.gz file into
/usr/src/RedHat/SOURCES.

Where should I unpack the tar.gz to?

Is there a command that will apply all of the patches without actually
building the binaries?

Elyse
