Dave has the advantage of being local. ;-)

I've run Etch on an Alpha with 64MB.  So I think the pentium would be no 
problem.

For a firewall I wouldn't use *buntu.  It's easier to get the bare bones 
with Debian.  Their server versions might be ok, if they let you skip X.

I don't have the *buntu server CDs yet, so if someone wants them speak up.
