[lug] (semi OT): booting from USB

Hi,
I'm wondering why on my laptop I can boot from one USB port but not
from another. When I hook the laptop to the docking station I cannot
use the "good" USB port (because it's covered by the station itself)
and the ones on the dock aren't good for booting. From the "wrong" USB
ports I simply I don't see the option of booting from USB, like when
you plug a non-bootable thumb drive (whereas this one is perfectly
bootable, since it works just fine on the "good" port)
Feature or bug (of the BIOS, or of the hw, I guess)?
