The problem with "learning" stuff these days is that if it's something you
don't use daily (or at least weekly), it's useless. Probably next month,
and certainly next year most things have changed and what you learned is of
little if any use. Sure you will learn the thought process and the
sleuthing (if you are not familiar with those), but the actual technical
issues per se won't happen again. Call me retrograde, but I wish I could
still use LILO: I learned it so well. Or at least the earlier grub: I come
so close to understand it...
