I just wanted to thank everyone on the list that responded to my post a few weeks ago on getting the UMAX Astra 600s scanner working in SuSE Linux 9.2. I finally did get it working by getting an Adaptec AVA-2906 on ebay for $15. It works great, and this SCSI card has the convenient DB25 connector that connects to a standard scanner cable. Richard
