Yes, Crest View Elementary serves all its student and teacher files
from a Linux server.  We've been running it for two years.  We
upgraded to a Dell 1300, 2x500mhz, this year.  We run Samba and
Netatalk.

That actually doesn't matter.  The PCs will be running Windows with no
adminstrative access.

If you are interested in helping the district as a volunteer, we just
launched Open BVSD (openbvsd.org).  We are not like BVSDWatch.org in
that we are trying to provide services to the teachers who need them.
One of our main goals is to create great applications for kids.
However, we also help out at schools installing printers, debugging
hardware and network problems, etc.
